My Conclusion
Not all shapes are to be usually found in this type of ring, but all colours, clarity, cut and size are to be found,
The most often found shapes are that of rounds, square and emerald or baguette, so as to minimise the gaps that will be present between the stones when they are set along side each other. For instance if pear shapes were employed, it can obviously be seen that there would be a greater that necessary gap between the gems, that would not look good in the settings. Square ended shapes are obviously the best to minimise all possible gaps.
They are most often found set in bands of one row, but can be set in rows of two or more, and usually set alongside that of diamonds, but can be set on their own. They will be seen in half eternity styles showing the gems only around half the band, or full types where the gems are present all round the ring. A great alternatively and a little more unique, is that of the wishbone style.
Metals used for Eternity Rings are the same as for others, 9ct and 18ct yellow and white gold, and occasionally platinum or palladium, to which the latter is increasing in popularity these days.
To keep your Ruby Eternity Rings looking as good as new really is an easy matter. Just clean them when necessary to remove the dirt formed by using a little mild detergent in warm water, and scrub with a soft toothbrush, to obtain excellent and cost effective results.
